Job details A leading global investment bank are looking for a qualified tax professional to assist the Head of Tax, Asia, in providing advisory and consulting support to their businesses in Asia. The candidate will be expected to take a proactive approach in their work and be able to work autonomously in a regional office environment. The role has evolved due to overseas expansion and growth in the Bank’s activities in Asia.

Job Specification:

•Identifying key tax issues and providing tax advice to the business units, including the review and approval of structures and new product proposals;
•Identifying transfer pricing risks, developing and implementing transfer pricing solutions for various business units and entities;
•Supporting the Tax Compliance function by providing tax technical support with respect to positions taken in tax returns and filings;
•Working with other members of the Asia tax team to resolve tax disputes and tax audits;
•Advising on tax implications of major corporate actions such as restructuring, acquisitions, disposals, capital and profit repatriation;
•Working with the Sydney tax team on indirect tax and employee related tax issues that arise in the region;
•Liaising with Tax and Finance regionally and globally, and with senior management and external tax advisors in Asia.


Requirements:

•Chartered Accountant or Tax Lawyer;

•Minimum of 5 years in the tax profession;

•International/Regional Tax experience preferred;

•Banking experience preferred;

•Trained in Big 4 firm/International Law firm;

•Good communication skills;

•Strong English skills, both written and spoken;

•Cantonese or mandarin language skills preferred but not essential.
