Our client, a leading investment company, is currently seeking a lawyer at the 4 - 6 year PQE level to act as their sole legal counsel for their Greater China operations. In this newly created position, the candidate would be responsible for a wide variety of legal issues (including drafting, preparation and review of legal contracts, and analysing and identifying the legal and regulatory risk of a broad range of transactions) and would work very closely with the decision makers in the organisation from day one. Applications for this position will be considered from candidates with at least four years experience in either banking and finance or general corporate law who possess strong business acumen, and the ability to develop an understanding of complex legal issues very easily. A familiarity of PRC legal issues/law would be advantageous in the position and native level Mandarin skills (along with excellent Chinese drafting skills) are essential. This would be an excellent opportunity for candidates from private practice looking for their first in-house role, or candidates in existing in house roles to develop their career in an organisation with an enviable mandate in the Greater China market.
