Our client is a well known European Investment Bank. Due to continued growth in Asia they currently require a junior Product Controller to join the Investment Banking (IBD) team to work across the different deal transactions within the area.
Reporting to the Regional Team Leader, the role will involve providing financial control and business analytical support to the IBD business in Asia. Duties will include providing high quality management information, coordinating the expenses recoverability exercise for all IBD Asia locations and coordinating the invoicing of fees and expenses to the clients. Across the region you will be responsible for the booking of revenue, expenses and balance sheet accounts; expenses billing and the review and coordination on tax-driven hard transfer bookings. In addition, you will be involved in day-to-day booking and maintenance of the general ledger for IBD, processing the P&L and balance sheet entries, verification, review and reconciliation.
To qualify, individuals must possess:
-A university degree in accounting or finance. A professional accounting qualification is desirable
-Minimum 3 - 5 years relevant experience in management accounting, product control or financial accounting gained from Banking and Financial Services
-Experience from Big 4 auditing Financial Services clients or experience on M&A and IPO engagements would also be considered
-Knowledge of investment banking transactions, corporate finance would be highly advantageous
-Strong software analytical skills using Microsoft Excel is required
-Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
-Flexibility to travel if required
